Since 60% of the body is made up of water, it is essential to stay hydrated. A person’s water intake requirements vary depending on age, activity level, weight, health, and environment (hot or cold weather). Drink plenty of fluids after exercise, and sweat profusely if you have a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea. The Institute of Medicine’s Food and Nutrition Board recommends that women should drink about 11 cups of water and men about 15 cups of water each day. Still, it’s recommended that you drink at least eight glasses of water each day. So drink! Not drinking enough water to meet your body’s needs can lead to dehydration.
reasons to drink water
The main reason you need to drink more water is that it helps your body.
• Maintain an average body temperature
• Removes waste products from the body through sweat, urine, and bowel movements.
• Lubricates and moistens joints
• It digests food by helping to break it down and also aids in the transport and absorption of nutrients.
water source
Luckily, you don’t have to drink water to get all the fluids you need each day. Soups, teas, milk, juices, other liquids, and all fruits and vegetables you eat daily all count toward your total water intake for the day. However, keep in mind that other sources of fluids such as juices, iced teas, and sodas can be high in calories and sugar. So water is the best source of hydration. You can drink it as it is, or you can make your flavored water by adding fruit. We do not recommend using commercial water purifiers. Making your flavored water is so easy and healthy for you.
